To protect, promote and defend child rights in the State as stated in our Constitution and in the context of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child (CRC) as acceded to by India.
Under sec. 13 of the said act, KSCPCR has the powers to inquire into complaints pertaining to violation of child rights. The Commission also functions as a civil court with respect to violation of child rights as per sec. 14 of the act. The Commission can act on receiving a complaint or can take up suo motu cognizance of violation of child rights.
